A state certified teacher with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education serves as the Director. Seven teachers and three teacher assistants complete the staff. We strive for a ratio of one staff member for every seven students with a maximum of one staff member for every nine students.
Mrs. Johenning brings a variety of experiences to our school. She has worked extensively in the banking business. Mrs. Johenning and her husband, Paul, live in Gilbertsville. This is Mrs. Johenning’s tenth year at our school. She is working with the Four Year Old Class. Mrs. Johenning attends Falkner Swamp Church. She enjoys spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Mrs. Eakins teaches our Three Day class and Pre-K class Spanish. Patricia graduated from Cabrini College with a B. S. in Education and a certification Secondary Spanish. She also graduated from Temple Univserity with a Masters Degree in Foreign Language Education. She lives in Telford with her husband and three children. They attend St. Agnes Church.
Mrs. Cassel graduated from Bluffton College with a degree in Art and Music Education. She has had a variety of teaching experiences including Oak Harbor Christian School in Washington and Plumstead Christian School in Chalfont. Susan is active in her church, Deep Run West Mennonite church, helping with the children’s programs, teaching Sunday school and directing the children’s Christmas musical. Susan lives in Silverdale with her husband, Steve, and her three children, Brooke, David, and Tommy. Susan has been in various positions at our school for five years.
Mrs. O'Reilly brings a wide variety of experience to our Tot time program. She enjoys doing activities with her husband and two boys, Colin and Brian. This is Cathy’s fourth year in our program.
Mrs. Starzecky graduated from Shippensburg University with a dual degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Development. Mrs. Starzecky had six years of early childhood teaching experience before being employed at our school. Mrs. Starzecky lives in Quakertown with her husband and their three daughters; Lauren, Abby and Jenny. They attend Quakertown United Methodist Church. Mrs. Starzecky is an aide in the Pre-K class. This is her sixth year teaching with us.

Mrs. Schmell graduated from Philadelphia College of the Bible with a Bachelor of Science Degree with a double major in Elementary Education and Bible. Mrs. Schmell brings 3+ years of working with young children. She was a teacher of 3-year-old children in Philadelphia and did volunteer church work with Youth With a Mission in Miami, Florida working with children. She and her husband, Rodger, reside in Perkasie and have three children: Timothy, Caleb and Kylee. They attend Deep Run West Mennonite church. This is Mrs. Schmell’s ninth year at Souderton Brethren in Christ Nursery School and Kindergarten. She is teaching our Three Day class this year.
